Signal from noise out April 5th

The sound piece Signal from noise, composed by Phil St. George, is now available on major international streaming platforms. Signal from noise is part of the Ius soli archive and it is a recorded excerpt of a live performance by Phil St. George in 2020.

Phil St. George is an electronic music composer whose modus operandi is based on the live rewriting of an archive of previously composed sounds. 

Conceived by Giovanni Ambrosio, Signal from noise is the sound installation that, after a week-long residency, activated Prolegomeni for an archaeological museum in the red zone. The live rewriting based on an archive of field recordings of Mount Somma-Vesuvio sounds. How may we transform the diffuse noise from the surroundign reality into an intelligible signal? How do we visualise the potential of storytelling?
