Phil St. George is an electronic music composer whose modus operandi is based on the live rewriting of an archive of previously composed sounds.
Conceived by Giovanni Ambrosio, Signal from noise is the sound installation that, after a week-long residency, activated Prolegomeni for an archaeological museum in the red zone. The live rewriting based on an archive of field recordings of Mount Somma-Vesuvio sounds. How may we transform the diffuse noise from the surroundign reality into an intelligible signal? How do we visualise the potential of storytelling?
