Plants and Monsters – Sound Work Collaboration

As part of the Plants and Monsters exhibition by artists Lotta Suomi and Heli Keskikallio at Pertin Valinta in Helsinki (December 2024), I was invited to develop a sonic installation based on one of Heli Keskikallio’s field recordings.

From her original recording, I roughly composed a layered piece that shaped the acoustic atmosphere of the exhibition—a sensorial presence echoing the bodily themes of the work. Later, I invited Cob, a long-time collaborator, to reinterpret the piece into a standalone track. This version, now – work in progress – exists as a potential future element for performances or installations still in progress.

A a shared and mutable process, where different voices rewrite, reshape, and recompose the original material. The result is an open form, a score of sorts, still becoming.
