Photography as Field RecordingSignal from Noise by Phil St. George is now available on major streaming platforms. Originally composed as a live sound installation, the piece was performed in 2020 for Ius Soli, Prolegomena per un museo archeologico della Zona Rossa. Part of the Ius Soli archive, Signal from Noise is an ongoing collaboration between composers, field recordings, and live installations. Conceived by Giovanni Ambrosio, the piece reinterprets Mount Somma-Vesuvio’s soundscape, questioning how ambient noise becomes intelligible signal and how archives open through sound storytelling. Listen now to an excerpt from the live performance at O’ Vascio room gallery, Italy, 2020. |
